My new Steelseries 3GC game controller will not work with my

Customer Question

My new Steelseries 3GC game controller will not work with my computer. (It works fine on other computers)
It is a USB "plug and play" device.
I have downloaded the driver and restarted my computer.(many times)
When I attempt to "Add Game Controller" I get message "Your game port or gameport drivers are not properly configured. Please consult Device Manager".
Which I do and Device Manager doesn't want to help me. In fact it doesn't have it listed in Device Manager.(3GC, Gameport Driver, or anything resembling a joystick).
Please help...
