Ok so on the laptop having trouble, unplug the AC adapter, and then remove the battery so the laptop is completely off. Hold down the power button for 60 seconds, then release. Plug the AC adapter and battery back in and then try to power it back on.

No, this did'nt work . It sounds like the fan begins running then shuts off

Ok on the bottom of the laptop, there should be an Acer sticker that has a Serial Number on it.
