Customer Question

My Outlook Express keeps 'freezing'. I close it, get the 'no response' message, re-open & it happens again.....not always, but enough to drive me nuts.

Optional Information:
Computer OS: Windows XP
Browser: Firefox

Already Tried:
Close & re-opened Outlook Express, rebooted computer, removed excess messages that I had been saving, and downloaded a 'fix' from Microsoft.

Click start, click run, type msimn.exe /safe and hit OK.
1. In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Maintenance tab, click to clear the Compact messages in the background check box, and then click OK.
3. Quit and then restart Outlook Express.

Now, reset internet explorer as well.
Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
Launch Internet explorer
Click Tools
Click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
Start Internet Explorer again.

I am so sorry! My broadband crashed and just came back up. I do have one further question. You said to click to clear the Compact messages in the background check box
in IE. Mine does not say that.

By clearing the compact messages, will all the emails I am currently saving within OE be deleted?

No,this will simply compact them and the emails would not take much more space and as a result of which, it would not freeze and start running fast.
