Hi! my computer keeps asking Do you want to run or save this

Hi! my computer keeps asking Do you want to run or save this file? when i try to download or open programs...whatever i choose it keeps poping the same quetion...what to do?

OKay

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. There are four security zones listed:
    • Internet
    • Local intranet
    • Trusted sites
    • Restricted sites
    Click the zone where you want to change the settings.
  4. Under Security level for this zone, click Custom Level.
  5. Under ActiveX controls and plug-ins, under Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls, click Disable or click Enable.
  6. Under Downloads, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Disable or click Enable, and then click OK two times.

Im still having the problem, I have most of the icons like itunes, nokia pc suite, utorrent and others with the e icon and not with the proper icon of the program on the desktop, internet i can only open from the start menu, otherwise if i open from desktop is still asking (same than with the other programs) Do you want to run or save this file?

yes, also others like windows media player TomTom Home2 , wrar 380, the icon for the explorer changed and it says inet , but not opening from there

goto Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

and do a restore to previous date

you need to do complete reinstallation of windows or do a factory restore
