Try this, press CTL and Fn at the same time several times in a row until it unlocks.

Try
press fn and f1.

Also try connecting the AC power directly removing the battery.

If nothing worked go to control panel and click device manager.
There you can see an image of Keyboard expand it delete the drive of your ketboard and restart the laptop.

Thanks.

Did not work.

Removed device drivers and restarted. no good. It did reinstall kyboard drivers and claims no issues.

SPace bar does bring laptop out of screen saver mode. Keyboard works fine in Barts and BIOS. So keyboard is good. Just looks like some sort of software keyboard lock.

Been pounding google tried all of that...no good. Ugh.

It is Vista SP2. 32 bit.

FN+F1 and FN+CNRL no joy.

touch pad works.

You can also try : FN+NumLk

or

FN +
Scroll-LK
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

tried both. No joy.

Been looking through toshiba manual for this model. nothing about a keyboard lock.

try to connect an external keyboard and see if its working or not.
If the external keyboard is working the its better to service the laptop as there is a possible hardware damage to the keyboard connectors.

Thanks.

If that were true why does the keyboard work fine in bios and within a Bart PE Windows XP environment?
