Hi I have an acer aspire 5738z with windows 7 update. I am wanting to connect my laptop to my tv via HDMI but have no sound. is it possible with a driver or something to getr this to work?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows 7Browser: IE Already Tried: I have looked at the sound options and it only shows the spdif output as hd. i've also looked at disabled devices. there is no sign of hdmi
You will either needto adapt the mini-phono analog stereo output of the pc to traditional RCAconnections and attach them to the (likely) mated audio input associatedwith the HDMI input of the TV. Or, you can run the digital audio output ofthe laptop into a similarly mated digital audio input of the TV. Both ofthese would be parallel connections. If running another cable isn't viable, then there are modular technologies you can buy that will integrate theaudio into the HDMI at the PC side. The composting would still occuroutside the PC, but if your HDMI is in the wall or something, then thisapproach is likely more feasible. Check gefen dot com - no, I don't workthere. (Gefen's would require you spot adapt the HDMI to DVI - it has a DVIinput and a digital audio input - and voila, one HDMI output w/ audio. Goodluck (also applies to many other video cards, by the way.)
so am i right in understanding that i cant use just a hdmi cable for sound and audio?
nopes..please accept if i was helpful
