Hi there. Before you delete your cookies tell me if you are getting any kind of error message and did you try to login to your Facebook account from a different computer?
I got a message saying needed to enable cookies, did that, said reset password, but can't log in to do that. When I try logging in it just refreshes login page. I can log in on facebook on laptop
What is the version of Internet Explorer that you are using.
IE8
Please use this procedure to allow cookies on your computer:
Cookies are handled very different in Internet Explorer 8 than they are in older versions of IE. Here’s how you can enable or disable them.
1. Click Tools.
2. Select Internet Options.
3. Click Privacy.
4. Move the slider to a setting desired. Options range from Block All Cookies to IE8 to Accept All Cookies. There are also options under Advanced where you can customize the settings.
When you finish make sure that you close all Internet Explorer windows and tabs and than open it back. Try to login to your Facebook account now.
Hope this helps.
I have already did that,I enabled cookies, if I close this site how will you know what I find out
You can come back by going to www.justanswer.com website again.Internet Explorer restart is needed so the changes can be applied correctly. In addition, you can try and erase all the cookies and internet history and temporary files.
ok, I'll try what you said
Please let me know the outcome and click on Accept if you are satified with it.
I enabled cookies and restarted my computer, I tried to log in and it still says to enable cookies
You need to disable, not enable cookies.
ok
after you disable them, delete all of them plus history and temporary files, restart IE and than enable cookies fresh...
I disabled cookies deleted all of them history and temp files restarted and enabled cookies, When I try to log in it still says enable cookies
How about if you try to download an alternative internet browser on your computer such is Firefox or Safari? In addition you should click on a link that is displayed with the message you are getting that should walk you step by step to make sure all settings within Internet Explorer are correct. Some security settings may also need adjustments.
Ok, so do I remove IE8, and then download firefox
No, you can leave it and download Firefox, you can have more than one browser installed at the same time
ok, I'll download firefox
You should not be getting any issues like with IE after you install it and try to access Facebook. If that is correct I suggest completly removing IE and reinstalling it again to try if that will solve the issue.Other than that, there are no other options besided reinstalling and restoring your complete Operating System.
