how do i remove virus that plays music/commercials in the background

Resolved Question:

how do i remove virus that plays music/commercials in the background? I use Vista. In the system configuration, I have 'recovery service for windows; manufacturer is unknown' checked. I do not see music.exe listed.

Hi,

Please try this and let me know result. Then we will try other things.

Please download - click here >> Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to the following:

    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. The rogue application should now be gone.

Press Ctrl+D to save this page as Favorite/Bookmark so that you can click on it to reach me after you restart computer.

Restart your computer now and let it load normally. And see if problem persists.
