I have to reboot my computer to get my printer to print. Can you help me fix this problem?

Hi there.
In addition try to restart your printer spooler service.
This is how:

  1. Step 1

    Click "Start"

  2. Step 2

    Click "Run"

  3. Step 3

    Type in "services.msc"

  4. Step 4

    Click OK

  5. Step 5

    Find Print Spooler in the list of services

  6. Step 6

    Click "Stop"

  7. Step 7

    Once the service has stopped, restart it by clicking on "Start"

I tried what u suggested, It didn't work. Tried it twice. Any other suggestions? How about properties? Though I checked some, I really don't know much about properties.

What happens when you click on Print before you need to reboot?
Also, what is your printers exact make and model?

Nothing happens, except it gets queued and the printing status says "Printing" (but it's not printing.

and cick on Download Now red link to download the latest driver for your printer.
Before you install it go to Control Panel, than click on Printers and remove your Lexmark printer from it.
Than restart your computer.
Once back in, unplug your printer from the computer, install the driver download and plug the printer back into the computer when prompted or when installation of the driver is finished.

Thank you so much, my printer is now printing!!

Just before you gave me the http to download the driver, I found the same page & put it onto my "Favorites" list. I figuered if all else failed I would download the driver.

Then you replied saying to do just that! However, you had additional advice which I never would have done--out of fear & lack of knowledge. I never would have deleted my printer from the control panel first, before downloading the driver.

AS far as the advice, the proper procedure, taught by and used at many computer classes I took, suggests exactly what I have advised you.
That would not change the fact that you would be able to use your printer again, it would just eliminate additional troubleshooting steps that might have been required if the printer would not work after driver re-installation
