How do I send an email to multiple recipients in one "bcc" line, instead of having to enter one email address per line?

You can separate the email addresses witha semicolon.

emailaddress@...com; emailaddress2@...com

etc.

That way you can put as many addresses as you want on the same line.

Tried it...won't work...here's the error:

 

"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.5.2 RCPT TO syntax error. Please check the message recipients and try again."

That means that there is something wrong in the list of email addresses, or there is an extra space.

Send a test email.

Type in an email adress that you know for certain works, then a semicolon, then a space, then another email address you know works correctly.

I found a forum which stated taht this error has a bug fix in later version of Thunderbird. It is at least a possibility.

What version of Thunderbird do you have?

Also, has this ever worked?

we just switched to thunderbird 6 months ago; we have not been able to send multiple emails since we've implemented thunderbird. I could do it on outlook before we switched.

 

is it version 3 i need to download?

However, today I re-booted my computer after installing Thunderbird 3 and was able to send a mass email by changing all semi-colons to commas and it worked! Happy New Year to me!
