Monotor image has turned sideways. How to fix??

using Vista Microsoft Internet explorer
Close all programs right click on the desktop select properties change orentation to landscape.
That didn't work> clicked properties but didn't find "LANDSCAPE
MAYBE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND PROBLEM. Screen image has turned 90 degrees. Instead of being long side to side it is long up and down>
right click on desktop then select screen resolution then change orientation to landscape
Screen resoultion is not listed there. I am using Vista basics- Inernet explorer Dell computer
I apologise but i am having technical difficaulties so it will be transfering you to another expert till i get them resolved.
I will check e-mail tomorrow morning for answer. Must go now.. Right now screen image is up and down on the long view of screen. Supposed to be on narrow. Hard to read and reply doing sideways.. ELH
Press CTRL+ALT+ Up arrow key.
i.e with CTRL and ALT keys pressed togeter tap the arrow keys..
