I have a verbatim ext hard drive. Its asking me to reformat.

I have a verbatim ext hard drive. Its asking me to reformat. I am affraid of looseing 1tb of movies? What can I do?

Did it just start doing this? Is this when you click on the drive? Sounds like the partition is corrupted.

I dropped my computer and the external was on and connected.

Hi,

Well that's not good. Hopefully it's just some corrupted partition tables and not physical damage to the drive. Try running Scandisk or Chkdsk on it in Windows.

i ran the scan disk,and it said no problem with ext hardrive! but, could i transfer my movies to another ext harddrive, then reformat.
