Customer Question

I cannot get audio from my computer when playing youtube or other videos online. I do get
sound from basic computer functions such as logging on or logging off and other things of that nature. I use head speakerphones for my sound. Do you know what the problem could be?

Did not see wavemapper in file. Totally lost. Need you to walk me through this step by step.
Expert:  lifesaver replied 7 years ago.

Have you opened registry editor?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Yes and I do see Hikey Local Machine wth a numer of subfiles located underneath Hikey Local Machine: BCD00000000, Components, Hardware, SAM, Security, Software, Systems ----- When I click on Hikey_Local_Machine the only thing that shows on the right side is Default and under the data field it shows that the value has not been set---

Name: Default
Type: Reg_SZ
Data: (Value not set)
Expert:  lifesaver replied 7 years ago.
Double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or do a single click on the small triangle symbol on left of it.

Then repeat this process, until you reach this folder

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

This two screenshots will help.

See if you can find the value named wavemapper as i have circled in the second image.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
There is not anything named wavemapper under software headings. I use mozilla firefox for my web browser and a long time ago I deleted internet explorer from my system.
Expert:  lifesaver replied 7 years ago.

Right click on the right pane.

Then select new string value.

Give its name wavemapper and its value as msacm32.drv

Exit registy editor.

Let me know if your internet sound is back or not.

Just played a video, still "no" sound. I am using headphones, and did an audio test with the computer and everything worked fine. Any other ideas. Would I need to restart the computer or something?
Expert:  lifesaver replied 7 years ago.
No need to restart now.

I am attaching two important files in a zipped folder below.

After downlaoding this zipped file, extract the two files to your desktop.

1>First file is msacm32.drv

Open computer.C 32 folder.Copy this msacm32.drv file into it.

2>Second file is missing.reg

Just double click on it.It will ask you whether you want to add the information to your registry.Do so.

After that restart and listen to some music on youtube.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I download the two files. On the second file (missing.reg) I did double click and added that information to my registry. As for the first file (mascm32.drv), I am a little confused
as to what you want me to do. I did get down to the system32 folder and opened the folder
up, a huge number of listings appear on the right hand column. Could you explain how I copy the msacm32.drv into the system 32 folder. Please explain step by step.
Expert:  lifesaver replied 7 years ago.
Ok..Its simpleactually.

Right click on mascm32.drv file on desktop.

Then select copy.

Move to system 32 folder.Right click then select paste.
