Hi there,

What do you mean when you say they are blocked ? Do you mean you are unable to use google websites like gmail , google serach etc ? Or do you mean you cannot use google software such as google desktop etc ?

All of the above. Any google application. On all browsers, including firefox, windows IE and safari.

What error messege do you get when say you go to google.com from browser ?
Page cannot be displayed or something else ?

Okya, go to the following directory :

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

There will be a file named hosts, open it using notepad and post its contents here

It says something like "page is taking too long to load and timed out"

The Host file:

# XXXXX (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# XXXXX is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# XXXXX file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# XXXXX should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# XXXXX placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# XXXXX IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# XXXXX
#
# XXXXX comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# XXXXX or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# XXXXX example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # XXXXX server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # XXXXX client host

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Okay, that looks fine, you can remove ::1 localhost line from that file and save it. Then try it.

Also, Please Download install and run Spybot Search and Destroy from the link below :

That should solve the issue.

Additionally, Please download, install and run, the following utilities, they will only do good to your system and make your system cleaner and spyware free.

Malwarebytes Antimalware

It won't let me save it because it says I'm not the administrator (of my own computer!) I think this is a Vista thing.
Expert:  abhi_iitian replied 7 years ago.

Yes, its a vista thing, make a copy of the file on desktop, make changes there, then copy the file and paste it in the etc folder.
