Optional Information: OS: Windows Vista Already Tried: To install Adobe Flash Player.
Hi,What happens when you try to install the flash player from adobe site ? Do you get any error messege ? also what browser do you have .. internet explorer ?Abhi
Yes, I have Internet Explorer. The message I get is Internet Explorer closes and win't respond.
sometimes there may be problems with the online installer. So, I will give you the offline installer of Adobe Flash Player.First lets remove all old Flash files on your computer using this tool : http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157Once its removed, then download this stand alone installer. Click on this link and a page will open and flash file will download automatically in few seconds ( you dont have to click anything on the page ) : http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/flashfirefox-security.htmlSave the file on your desktop. Once downloaded, First close internet explorer, then double click to install it.Then restart your computer and you should be all set. Let me know how this goes.
How do I clolse Internet Explorer?
I mean just close the window, bookmark this page :http://www.justanswer.com/questions/255sd-cant-install-flash-playerOur conversation will be here, once flash is installed, come back here and reply to me.
I downloaded Adobe Shockwave Player but can't find it anywhere.
Where did you save it, check on desktop, or my documents may becheck for a file named install_flash_player.exe After installing goto this link and let me know what message you see about flash :http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/abhi_iitian39962.5273475347
It didn't ask. It's not on the desktop. I will try my documents.
If yoiu cannot find it, just download again and this time remember to click on save button and remember where its saving it
There is no save button. I even did a search for shockwave and did not find it. It didn't work.
Click on the link below :http://tinyurl.com/y5nsbgA pop up will come saying DO you want to run or save this file, say Save
All I get is "The Administrator has blocked the program and won't download."
So, you were able to locate the file right, Right click on it and select Run as administrator
There is no place as Run as Administrator. There is no place to right click. When I try to run the program, it just says Windows Browser has stopped working and the program won't install.
Earlier you said
It still won't work. It says administrator has blocked the program. I give up.
Okay, so you did the run as administrator thing ?Where exactly are you getting this messege , when you run that thing ?
On Internet Explorer menu bar , Go to Tools, then Internet Options, then under General Tab, under Browsing history, Click the Delete button, and then click on delete all. Under Advanced Tab, click on reset tab. Restart IE, try downloading flash now. Also try installing flash player in IE (no add ons) mode : to do that click start, then type iexplore -extoff, then try installing flash from the adobe siteAlso, to see if it is an issue with IE, Try using Mozilla firefox which is a very good and popular browser. Download it and then install it . Then install flash and see what happens,abhi_iitian39962.5809765394

Rather than accepting and leaving negative feedback , I would have appreciated if you would have told me the outcomes of my previous suggestion , or if you thought I was not able to help you out I would have opted out and some other expert could have helped.
I did tell you and asked for another techie. I am not mad at you. In fact, I think you should be paid for your time. It's just that Administrator told me that Flash player is not allowed on my computer for some reason. Maybe people have had trouble with it. Anyway, it will not work. I think you did the best that could be done under the circumstances. I don't think I pushed "negative feedback." I wouldn't do that after all your work, so tell your bosses I think you should be paid. Sincerely, Ruth Maller
I am opting out , others having different ideas will try to assist you with this.abhi_iitian39963.2469053588
Microsoft fixed the oroblem for me but thank you anyway. They just changed a few settings. But I want you to be paid anyway. How do I go about this?
Could you tell what setting did they change, did they change the security settings in IE under Internet zone or the Active X settings or something else ?Anyway, you had accepted my answer so I was got paid, I just felt unhappy about receiving negative feedback . Anywaym have a nice day, may be I will be able to help you in future
Active X and a few other things I don't remember. It took a long time. I am glad you were paid. I know you tried. Thank you.
Okay thanks. Hope to help you some other time
