I can load all pogo games, except spades why?
Optional Information: OS: Windows XP; Browser: AOL Already Tried: deleting my browser cache, and java cache. Deleting all temporary files. Re downloading Java several times. Restoring to an earlier date, no luck.
HiCustomerThank you for the question. Depending on the technologies used in certain games, you may need to have different plug-ins installed in to your browser. I was just able to load Spades from Pogo, while it appears to run as a Java applet, I also have Adobe Shockwave installed. Do you know if you have installed this yet? If not, you can install from the URL below:http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/Are you getting any errors when trying to run the game? Hi, I downloaded the abode shockwave and I still cant play pogospades. The jave comes up, then it says the game is loading. But it doesn't, then I click the refresh button and it kicks me out from the table.
Can you try using Internet Explorer rather than AOL's internal browser? You can fire up a session of Internet Explorer by going to Start -> Run -> typing iexplore. This will tell us if it's a problem with AOL's browser, or a problem with your machine settings. Let me know what you find. Thanks again,

Can you tell me which version of Java you are using? The easiest way to get this is going to a command prompt (Start -> Run -> type cmd, then type java -version). I am using 1.6. I would recommend running the latest version of Java as the games are likely developed with more recent technologies. I'll have a look at java settings that might help out in the mean time. Sounds like the same as mine. Do you have any internet security/firewall software running? Since you have the appropriate software, it seems something else is blocking this. A good start would be going to Internet Explorer, and going to Tools -> Popup Blocker -> Turn Off Popup Blocker, and trying Spades again. If that still fails, you might have another security software (ie - Norton) where you will need to disable ad blocking. I turne off pop up blockers in internet explore, still wont load. Do I nne to turn off all pop up blockers?
That would be the only popup blocker to disable, however if you are using Norton Internet Security, you will also need to disable what they call "Ad Blocking". Are you using this software? norton was included with the abode shockwave.
Thanks for the reply. So if you are using Norton, I would recommend following the solution in my last update to disable ad blocking. Norton Internet Security wouldn't have been installed along with Shockwave though, since this software is by a separate vendor and is typically installed by your computer manufacturer. One more thing I would highly recommend is using FireFox for Pogo games. You can download FireFox by going to http://getfirefox.comPlease let me know what you find. Thanks again!
