I can't open MS Word but other MS Excel will open. Error message - reinsatll MS Word but I don't know where the CD is. Can you help me?
Optional Information: OS: Windows XP Already Tried: I can't find the MS CD to reinsatll MS Word. I'm on a tight budget and can't afford to purchase another MS Word. Exell and Power point work. Thanks
HiCustomerThank you for the question. What is the error message you are getting when you try to launch Word? If you do not have your CD's, you can try to run a repair of MS Office. Windows 2003 and 2007 provide a repair utility. You can find this utility by going to Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools -> Microsoft Office Application Recovery. Please let me know what you find after running this utility. Thanks again,
Error message - MS Word had not been installed for current user. Please run set up to install the application. I'm using MS Word 2000 (Home Ed XP).
When I hit MS Office Application Recovery - it's blank and it won't let me add a program.
If you go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, do you see an option to change/modify/repair MS Office? If so, let's give that a try. Depending on how the install was done, you may need your CD's, however I don't think you will. Let me know what you find. Thanks again.

Hello, your answer was a good one. But, this didn't solve the problem. I can't open any MS Office products - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.
Did the repair complete successful? It sounds like you need to install MS Office with the user account you are currently using. If you cannot find your CD's, and do not want to purchase Office, the only other option would be to install Open Office from www.openoffice.org. This is not a Microsoft tool, however is very similar and compatible with all MS Office products. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your help. It completed the repair and now I can't open any MS Office products. Before the repair only MS Word won't work. Thanks again.
If you know the user account you installed MS Office with, you can try the repair again as that user. Otherwise I would still recommend openoffice.org until you are able to locate/replace your CD's. Thanks again!
