I cannot get flash to work on my computer. I downloaded an uninstaller, quit all applications in the windows system tray, uninstalled flash and then reinstalled it from this link: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BUIGP As per advice from Rita. I then restarted my computer, and checked my flash status using these websites: http://www.itl.gwu.edu/showcase/gotFlash.htm http://www.youtube.com/ http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507 Which told me I don't have it installed.
Optional Information: OS: Windows XP; Browser: FirefoxAlready Tried: Most of it's in my question. I attempted to uninstall and reinstall flash as per earlier advice.
Hello,
So when you clicked on the link to reinstall did it state it installed successfully?
Let me ask what Antivirus software are you running?
Yes, it stated that it installed correctly. I also checked (I don't know if it means anything) and all of the files it said it was putting in my registry and whatnot are where the details of the installation says they are. I have Norton antivirus, as well as this "AVG" supposed virus checking thing on there. I shut down the AVG thing for this, though.
Ok,
AVG is a spyware protection but i have seen where norton blocks the installation from completing successfully,
Can you temporarily disable your Norton just till we get this installed and then we can reenable it.
