hp d145 printer installation problem

Customer Question

Trying to reinstall software for HP officejet d145 on new computer. Installer asks for disc named: LABEL before continuing. I never got a disc like that with printer. How to complete installation?

Your best bet is to download the software and driver directly from HP, and just install it from that, without the CD at all.

Assuming you have Windows XP, the link to the software you need is here: software link

Otherwise, you can go to http://www.hp.com and search for the product number and choose the proper operating system.

Reply to Heidi's Post: Installed new software and drivers from HP. Still doesn't work when I click on the icon for hpodir07.exe. Error message sys, "Unable to start the HP officejet director."

The error message you got as because printer driver is install or pirtially installed. so
uninstall it first,
if you can't uninstall then go to your temp folder and delete the tempory files then start the installation.
I am assuming you are using Windows XP


Other options are
go to Printers and FAXs from start menu.
then click File->add printer and proceed step by step and in Install Printer Software windows
selct hp from the left side ad from the right side choose your printers closest match and install it. hope it will work.
