Customer Question

Guys,Need help urgently as my site has been offline a couple of days now. I’m getting a white screen of death… here’s what I’ve tried:plugins have all been disabled by ftp

refreshed all wp core files via ftp except wp-config and wp-contentWhen I try to access wp-admin I get the message:Fatal error: Call to undefined function nocache_headers() in /home/makewood/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php on line 33However, I’ve repeatedly refreshed the /wp-admin/admin.php file with freshely downloaded one and have searched it for nocache_headers()….. can find any sign of this line. Here’s the url: https://makewoodenlures.comI really need to recover this site urgently. Any suggestions appreciated.

What do you mean you have disabled the plugins by FTP?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Thanks Kevin..... I went in though cpanel and renamed the plugins folder and the themes folder to disable all plugins and the current theme. https://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors#The_White_Screen_of_Death

OK - I would not of done this as the themes and plugins could be referenced on other core parts of the files and make it worse.

I'm looking into this.

I think we should export your MySQL Database to a back-up

After this reinstall Wordpress and point the new install to your OLD database.

Are you OK with this? If so you can give me the details and I can make a start.

ok. will my content be safe? There's a lot invested in this site....

The actual data will be and it will be a fresh word press install with all your info but no themes or plug-ins.

I estimate 1-3 hours for the migration in total.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
ok. so the plugins and child theme can be reinstated after the new install?
