i am trying to get a list of all the email addresses in my data base then export to Excel. My search criteria is where email field is not empty. I only get 500. I know there are more.

I'm not a goldmine user, just did a little searching on your behalf... 500 sounded like a "typical" limit on search outputs. Perhaps that's your default setting.
