I want to write transaction details (date, time, currency, amount and time ) to indicate that a transaction has occured. how do I start it please? This is the actual task below:
"On a conversion request, ask the user for a foreign currency amount, then calculate and display the equivalent GBP value; if the customer wants to proceed, write the transaction details (date, time, currency, amount and surname) to a flat file. "
Optional Information: Language (or Software): Javascript Browser (if necessary): IE Already Tried: I have no idea, I need guidance.
Hi there, what language are you needing to do this in?
In Java, I am using eclipse as well
Does it need a GUI, or can the input come from STDIN?
sorry I am not sure what STDIN stands for
Just text in the console window (STDIN = Standard Input = Keyboard)
Does it require a GUI?
No just input
the stdin
OK, and where are you supposed to get your conversion info from?
I have the currencies I want to use already
they would be stored in a flat file
Are you wanting someone to do the assignment for you?
No
Just a guidance on how to go about it, perhaps an example
How can I help?
I don't really have an example for you. I could write the application for you, but unless you have some specific questions, I am unsure how I can really help?
Okay, if you can write the application for me it would really help
When do you need it by?
as soon as you can provide it
Is this time tomorrow acceptable?
yes it would be okay.
Please upload any documents pertaining to the assignment (including your conversion file) and I will have it for you.
okay
send them via www.wikisend.com
I am going to use the same name as provided here?
after you upload it will give you a URL
you just give me the url
it doesn't seem to be working this night
any alternative?
try www.sendfile.com
I just have a list of currencies, do you mind if I just send it through here

I will be here for at least 2 hours.
Thank you, in that case I will respond tomorrow because I need to carefully check it.
Okay, I get the conversion part, I think there should another class to show transaction details e.g date and time.
Seems like a bit of overkill. Is that what you would like?
Yes I would like it, I could pay any extra charges, I just need a second opinion to feel that I am on the right track.
