I reently have found all ms office doc file when sent to desktop have large red exclaimation marks on them,how do i remove them?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows Vista Browser: IE Programming Language: english Already Tried: uninstalling ms office and reinstalling.went back to an elier piont.Neither of these work.I'm quessing it is in the IE desktop system.Because the problem is only on desktop,not in my documnets.

This is a standard feature in Office 2007 whereby the excel or word files icons have an exclamation mark when the files have macros so that you will know that there could be potential security issues before opening the file. These files have the extension xlsm or docm. It does not only happen on the desktop, but in any folder. You just need to set your file view to icons in order to see the exclamation.

This can be usually caused by some softwares such as backup software
i would like to know if you have Mozyhome backup ?
If you have this installed then please follow the following instructions to remove the red exclamation marks

if you have other backup softwares it should be nearly the same issue, you will need to find the notifications and uncheck this option.

I don't know where you are talking about changing a view icon to view something
To change the View to icon in your other folders, click on 'View' from the menu on top then select Icon.

No I did not say you can change that. If you look at my message you will see that I was only assuring you that this is the case no matter where the file is stored (not only the desktop).
