You should not need to set the security, I think you are doing it manually.

Hi Richard. I did all of that prior to my request for help. The one thing I can not do is choose the security type that I have on my Belkin card tab. My security type is WPA/WPA2. my choices on my Wii settings are WPA-PSK (TKIP); WPA-PSK(AES) or WPA2-PSK (AES) all give me error codes.

ok, but when you do the instructions I gave, you do not set the security as it detects this.

Can you remove the power to your wifi router, then hold the power button on the Wii for 30 seconds then release.

Power on the wifi router, power on the wii and then try to connect
