Lets try to update the driver

Expert:  Elgin Vega replied 23 days ago.

Go to control panel, then click in the button show small icons.

Then select device manager and check for network devices, check the name of the devices there and tell me to give you the correct driver

Customer: replied 23 days ago.
In Control Panel, I see CREDENTIAL MANAGE and DEVICES AND PRINTERS. I click on the Former and it shows nothing like you want. I click on the Latter and it shows the Laptop, but clicking on it only brings up my HP printer. Now what? Do I look for something else? I do not specifically see DEVICE MANAGER.
Expert:  Elgin Vega replied 23 days ago.

When you select control manager theres a little button that allow you to see small icons and large icons.

In the top right corner of the window, after select small icons you will see device manager

Customer: replied 23 days ago.
I did it, but found NETWORK ADAPTERS, not DEVICES, under Device Manager. I clicked on it and found these Adapters:
Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Ethernet; Atheros AR9485, Wireless Network Adapter; and, Microsofty Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter.

Customer: replied 23 days ago.
I am sorry, but how do I check all programs? It seems this is harder than I anticipated. I need to give it up; I will still give you a good rating for trying, but it is on my end we cannot do this. Plus, I have a sick dog, and my wife is on my back. Let's call it quits.
Expert:  Elgin Vega replied 23 days ago.

i am a different expert

I can remote in to look at it for you.

there are a few things that might cause it.

distance from the router would be one.

there are a few routers that limit the number of connections and if you have other devices such as phones or tv's going to the router it might be waiting till one of them logs itself off.

or the router might just need to be rebooted.

Customer: replied 22 days ago.
The laptop is connecting fast now, so will just see how it goes and if needed, will contact you later for remote help. Thanks.
Customer: replied 22 days ago.
The distance between laptop and router is 3 feet.
Expert:  RobCat98 replied 22 days ago.

ok thanks

if you are happy with the effort i made i hope that you will give me a good rating

your rating is the only way that i get any credit from this website

even after you rate me if you come back to this same post with the same issue i will continue to help you

thank you
