I am trying to set up a wireless connection using a net gear

Customer Question

I am trying to set up a wireless connection using a net gear adapter and it's not orking
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular Netgear router?
Customer: None, I just had my pc upgraded and I told him I wantedInternet TV and he gave me this router so I have been investigating online how to set it up and nothing I do works.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Before what popped up?
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Everything I've plugged it into my tower I've plugged it into my TV I have looked at diagrams and it says that there was a problem I'm I'm going back to try to find what it says why it's not working seems that I need some kind of wiring which I don't want to use because my computer Is in another room and I don't need wires all over the place
JA: Anything else you want the network expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I am right now it's saying checking adapter list and then it says the cinema connection CCKW will help you easily connect your receiver to the Internet through your wireless router I don't know what that means

Hi,

Thank you for using JustAnswer.com.
My name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help.
If I understand correctly, you're trying to connect a Netgear Wireless Adapter (possibly a USB adapter) to a TV, is this correct?
Thanks,
Bob

it is

Hi,
After my 2nd response, an automatic "Premium Service" offer will be made. Please feel free to disregard it, we can revisit that type of service later if necessary.

OK, what is the Make and Model of the TV?

Thanks,

Bob

Customer: replied 13 days ago.
What does that mean? You just take my money and conviently can't connect to me?
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
Nice. Will be reporting this
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
Oh shit just noticed your zero ratings.... quick money from trusting people like me
Expert:  Bob James replied 13 days ago.

Hi,

I'm not sure what all of those responses are about.

I explained that you will get an automatic Premium Service offer, and I also suggested you should "please feel free to disregard it". I most definitely do not have a zero rating, I have a very high rating so I'm not sure what it is you're looking at.

I am one of the most helpful people, and I'm sorry that you're not understanding.

I will respectfully ***** ***** now, as I do not feel like you're treating me fairly.

Thanks,

Bob

I'm familiar with the WNDA. I have a v2 I use in a laptop.

When you saw this on your screen earlier, "cinema connection CCKW will help you easily connect your receiver to the Internet through your wireless router" That sounds like some type of setup wizard. When you saw that screen did it offer any options?

Customer: replied 13 days ago.
I think it said I needed a cable, I can run it again if you want to be sure, but I don't want candles running through my home. Which is why I bought this adapter
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
Sorry cables not candles
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
Otherwise no
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
I am going to plug it back into my TV now and start the set up and see what it says.
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
It's in UHB 1 hdd

According to Samsung you'll need to use one of their wireless adapters in the TV.

"You must use the “Samsung Wireless LAN Adapter” (WIS09ABGN, WIS09ABGN2, WIS10ABGN) to use a wireless network"

That statement came from the Notes section on page 28 of the manual:

this adapter the computer guy sold me is no good?
Expert:  Byron replied 13 days ago.

According to Samsung the TV has to be using one of their adapters.

The adapter should work great in a PC or laptop but not in your TV.

Customer: replied 13 days ago.
Well I thank you, ***** ***** link you sent me where I can get one?
Expert:  Byron replied 13 days ago.

That's a link to the PDF version of the manual where if found the information on the wi-fi adapter it needs.

You can get one on Amazon but the price is a bit scary to me:

Here's one on ebay for 1/3 of the Amazon listing:
