I have a linksys router. If wired it works fine like 25 mbps

Customer Question

I have a linksys router. If wired it works fine like 25 mbps but when I go wireless it drops to 1.5 mbps. It worked fine till a week or so ago.
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular Linksys product?
Customer: I have a had wireless for about 8 years. I had another smaller router from linksys until a little over a year ago. I have set up wireless routers for myself in 2 locations over the last 8 years and I have set up 2 of my uncles routers. Never any problems. I use to test speed on my desktop wired and my laptop both wired and wireless. I have used att to test speed too.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no my current router is a linksys AE6400 I think. Unless it did it automatically I have not
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don no

There are a lot of factors as to why a wireless connection can be slowed down..

Is the router underneath anything? Where is it positioned?

How far away from the router are you when you receive 1.5mbps?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Right beside ior less than 20 feet away. Also I have received several responses from you all. I only want to invest 5 dollars why so many responses?

The symptom sounds like wireless channel interference. Did you try changing the wireless channel to another "far away" from the previous one?

I had the exact same issue with my Linksys router. The issue was fixed after changing the wireless channel and bandwidth.
