Customer Question

I have a desktop computer, and I've been connected to my regular (shared) network for months no problem. But then 32 days ago it just disappeared from my list of available networks.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your machine, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: It's an optiplex 3010? and it runs Windows 7 Ultimate
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Yes.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't have access to the wireless router. It's a shared network at a school campus.

Hi there and welcome

To check this network is at a different location to where you are at now?

Please let me know.

Correct, the wireless router is not accessible. It's a shared network, and it's not in my building. There were no problems until 3 days ago. The network name just disappeared off the available networks list and hasn't come back. However, my old lap top is still connecting to the network just fine. The desk top connects through a USB adapter, also. But nothing has changed about its connection or placement.

how exactly are you connecting to this second network? And does the problem computer still have internet?
