Hi my name is ***** ***** I may be able to assist. Is it the wireless on you laptop that seems to be turned off?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I don't know, I've not even had the laptop a month and the screen freezes and the web pages don't want to load and when I click on stuff it doesn't do anything
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

It does not look like the Secure Assistance went through but we can try to figure out why it is not working through chat. What is the make and model of the laptop?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Lenovo idea pad 100-151bd
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Also my network setting said it was connected and secure and earlier it all the sudden said there was no network system to.connect to but when I.turned it back on later today it still kind of worked but keeps freezing and doing everything I mentioned above
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Are you still there?
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

You might try the Airplane Mode button. It is the F7 key at the top of your keyboard. You may have to press the Fn key while pressing F7.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It says it's connected and secured now but when I type a website into the address bar it disappears and seems like it's not doing anything
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It takes a long time to load and doesn't want to go through
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Can you go to the Start button and in the search bar type "cmd" and the click on Command Prompt when it comes up in the search?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Ok I did
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Type 'ipconfig' in the black screen prompt and tell me what you IP address is.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Which one? There's one that says IPv4 and one that says IPv6
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

IPv4.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It's 192.168.0.242.
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Hmm.. You've got a valid address.

Try typing 'ipconfig /flushdns' and try your internet search again.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
The webpage still isn't working. I put in a web address into the address bar and doesn't even seem to be loading
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

What is the web address you are using? Does http://google.com or http://yahoo.com work?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
No, neither work
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Ok. Let's try this. Reboot your wireless router and then your laptop. Let's see if this helps.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
How?
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Do you know where your wireless router is?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Yeah
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I unplugged the power cord for about a minute And plugged it back in
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Ok, great. I was about to say that. :) Give it a sec and then wait for you laptop to reconnect. They try your browser again.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It seems to be working. But when I type in a web address for example google in the tab above it will say Google (not responding) and then it loads. Is that a possible problem?
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

What browser are you using?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Microsoft edge
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

If you go to the 3 dots in the upper right, then click on Settings, there will be a Clear Browsing Data button. Go ahead a click that and see how it acts afterwards.

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

I personally don't like Edge. It's not better than Firefox or Chrome yet. I would advise going to Firefox. You'd have a better browsing experience.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay, how do you get it? Do you just download it?
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

This is the download link. Just click on the Free Download button and Run the install.

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Let me know how it works for you.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I put the address into my address bar but the page won't load it still says not responding as it tries to load. It will work sometimes but most of the time it doesn't
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

So it won't download the Firefox file?

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Type Internet Explorer in the search bar in the Start button and open it. It should still be installed.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Well I'm using my phone to communicate with you but I want Firefox on my laptop, so I typed in the address into the address bar on my laptop but it won't respond
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Let see if Internet Explorer is still installed. Go to Start, search for Internet Explorer or iexplore.exe and open it.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay, I did but the internet explorer browser also says not responding but is checking for a solution
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay the page finally loaded I'm going to try to type
In the link
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Did it download for you?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
The web page is still trying to load
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

Still loading?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
No, I tried downloading Firefox but it says it's a threat to my pc
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.

It says that to all .exe files. It is OK to install.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay thank you for your time
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 5 months ago.
