It is very likely that your computer has temporarily lost the connection to the internet. You can check by minimizing iPhoto and opening your web browser and going to a site that you have never visited before. You can try this link:
If you get a message saying that the page can not be displayed then you will know that you've lost your internet connection. The easiest way to fix this would be to shutdown and restart your computer. Sometime that is all that it takes to restore the internet connection. If that doesn't do the trick, then you can try shutting down your internet modem and/or wireless router, and then shutdown and restart your computer again.
Please try this and let me know the results. If this doesn't resolve th eproblem, we will need to take a look at yoru internet modem to see if there may be a problem with your internet service.

I'm sorry to hear that. Let's take a look at your internet modem. What type of internet service do you have? DSL, cable, or somthing else? Do you see a model # ***** your modem?
Hi my name is ***** ***** I can assist you today. It appears that your iPhoto seems to be the issue rather than a connection issue.
I'm going to have you reset your preference file for iPhoto and rebuild it. It appears that seems to be the cause for others with this issue.
Before we go down that route, can you try to make a PDF of the iPhoto book for testing purposes?
If you are able to save a iPhoto book as a PDF, then follow these steps.Hold down the Option key while in Finder, click the Go menu then the “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/ in the Go to the Folder and click Go.Go under the Preference folder and delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file then,go back to the Library folder and then open the Caches folder then com.apple.iPhoto folder. Delete the cache.db file.Reboot, launch iPhoto, reset its preferences and try purchasing again.
