Hi my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to assist you. Were you able to connect to this WiFi connection previously? If not, are others able to connect to this WiFi connection?

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

Hi there! This is Jason with JustAnswer.com checking in to see if you still needed assistance with your issue. Let me know either way.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it worked for the iPad until about a week ago.
Wifi works fine with iPhone and printers.
iPad recognises the WiFi but says that it cannot join .
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

Is the WiFi connection saved in you iPad? Have tried to choose "Forget Network" and then reconnecting.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
D-LINK Router DSL-2730 controls WiFi connections to other devices.
It has the iPad's MAC address.
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

So you have MAC Authentication turned on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Say again, iPad access to LAN WiFi was ok until it refused to connect about a week ago. Other devices continue to work ok as before,e.g. iPhone, printers etc.
Input of Network name and Password ***** normal gives access/connection to WiFi, but iPad claims it can no longer join.
We use WPA-2 security. Adding MAC address to router using MAC Filtering for a device gives it access, except now for the iPad. Is this what you mean by MAC Authentication?
By the way where can I find the iPad's IP address?
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

MAC Authentication and Filtering are the same thing. If you go to Settings > About, the IP should be there.

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

You might want to take the MAC filter for the iPad out of the router then re-enter it. It's possible that the entry on the router has been corrupted.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
WiFi Address/MAC, IMEI etc are listed, but not the IP for the iPad.
Need the IP address to re-enter both IP and MAC for the iPad into the router, hence my search for the IP address.
Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

If it hasn't connected to the WiFi, it won't have and IP address yet. DHCP hasn't been able to assign it.

Expert:  Jason Fenoglio replied 1 year ago.

The IP address would actually be in the WiFi connection, if it had connected.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not getting anywhere. I will take it into an Apple store tomorrow, Ausie time.
Thanks for the conversation.

Sorry I couldn't get it taken care of. I'll send this to customer service to close the question.

Thanks,

Jason
