Customer Question

Hi. I have netgear90. The signal on it is going off and on. Just started this evening since a storm blew in. My cable and Internet are working properly. Anything I can do with the router?
JA: Routing question, huh? Fortunately, the tech wizards we work with know networking, and I'd like to connect you with the best one for this. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: I can connect to the Internet on my laptop and then loose it. I noticed 2 lights on the front of my router are coming on and going off in 30 second intervals.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Network Technician should know?
Customer: Nothing.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Network Technician about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello and thank you for your question, I look forward to assisting you today. Is your router possibly a Netgear N900?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
N600 actually
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Okay thank you. Can you tell me what two lights are blinking please?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
2.4ghz and the 5ghz
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Okay that is normal. What about the other lights?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Those are the only 2 going off and back on. My Internet connection is lost about the time those go off, so I thought that was my issue
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Is your N600 connected to a cable modem?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Yes. That same modem is also connected to my DVD player for netflix. Been watching movies on it, currently, with no issue.
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
How are you communicating with me?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Cell phone
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Okay just checking. Unplug the router and let it set for about a minute the plug it back in and let me know what happens.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Ok plugged back in.
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
It may take a few seconds to link up.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Showed back up in my connection list on my laptop. No signal

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
And gone again
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
What does the internet link light show on the router?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Flashing orange on my cable company router
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
On the N600?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
On the n600, I have lit power light. Next I'm assuming is link ( circle with a line going around it) is lit up, the 2.4 and 5 off and on again, and a lit up #1
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Check the attachment I am sending. This is what you need to see on the front of the N600 for you to have network connection.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Mine has the wps on top lit up blue...as always
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
That's okay.
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.

Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Well for now, you can connect your laptop directly to the router with a patch cable and bypass the wireless. I can't remote in without a stable connection.

Ethernet to wireless router??
Expert:  Dan replied 7 months ago.
Your router has ethernet ports on the back.
