can't get my Zmodo DVR to connected.

I have the DVR connected to the router with a cat 5 . It shows up on the Westell router but i can't access it from the desk top computer. I have put the Zmodo on my my I-phone but cant access it

Did you enter the network settings in the DVR network menu when you set it up?

I was able to open the router and go to the port forwarding tab.
I set up rules on the port forwarding page after research on the net last night

That's fine, but you also need to check the network settings for the DVR as well. The only way you can access it will be with the IP address. Go to Tool Bar, System, Network Setting, Network Connection. Let me know when you get there.

Okay, from your computer, open another browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.34 and see if you can access the DVR.

Well again, make sure you have JAVA and Adobe Flash Player downloaded and installed. Many of these players are dependent on both of those programs.

When you attempted to connect with IE, did you see a popup screen to install an ActiveX plugin?

Okay you will need to use Internet Explorer as the user interface of the DVR is built around that, so Chrome will not work. You also need to set the ActiveX controls of IE but I haven't found what the settings need to be just yet.

When you attempt to login, does it ask for a username and password?

Please check the "IP Access" setting in the Net tab of your DVR. If the DVR is set to "Allow Access", then change it over to Disable and try to connect again.
