How far is the player from the router?Do you have issues with any other devices over wifi?
Are they in the same room? Or are they within range that you can plug the player into the router directly, with a long ethernet cable: http://amzn.to/1n08PJSIf so, that is the next step here, both as a potential fix as well as a diagnostic process.
You can route a cord over, temporarily.
I couldn't tell you that without knowing the current software version.
You can look in the Support section of the menu for that.
But, it is very rare for a software update to help this type of issue. It is hardware related, which is why I really need you to test the ethernet, even if you have to move the player to do it.
