I'm sorry about the issue. Are you trying to connect cable on the TV?
And/or are you trying to connect the Internet on the TV?
What's the model of your AT&T Uverse modem/router device?

Under the "Options" Menu there is "Audio Options" and under that menu, there is a setting for Digital vs Analog Audio. Try setting back & forth and see if the "other" setting cures your issue. You may have to set it to Stereo or let me know what the other options are
