yes, I just need to config it to where it will sit between my cable modem and my wireless router.

That should be a default setup, or very nearly, given that it does not have to be configured for DSL.

But I do not know how to help you with such a setup using putty. So I have Opted Out, opening the case to other Experts in this category.
