Ask Computer Networking Questions and Get Answers ASAP
Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question! Could you please let me know what method you are connecting the printer to your WIFI? Are you using the WPS push button method or manually entering your WIFI password?
I understand, so how far have you gotten in the connection process so far before being unable to connect?
I see and can you please let me know your operating system?
Have you already downloaded and installed the correct software and drivers for the printer? Sometimes it will connect without this but with your particular model need to have the correct software
As for the iPhone and iPad would need the Brother "iPrint" application installed from the App Store
Here is a link to download the correct software for your Mac: http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcj470dw_us_eu_as&os=10006
If you download the Printer & Scanner drivers as well as the Wireless Setup Utility you can use the Utility to get the printer communicating to your Mac
I understand, so might be an issue with your new modem. Can you try restarting the modem/router to see if will allow the connection?
Yes based on your description it seems that it definitely has something to do with the router
Great, that sounds like a plan!
