Customer Question

My brother is 84 and does not want to own a computer. He has cable tv, a flat screen, HD, tv that does not have wifi, and a modem that he doesn't use, at all. The question is, can he set up a home wireless network so he can watch TV programs on the Internet , and how would we do it?

Hello,
I am the person that will be helping you today.
Does the TV have a network port, which a network cable can be plugged into?
Is the modem wireless?
I will be standing by.
Thank you,
Jason

The tv has one open HDMI port, and a usb port. I think it also has an S Video port. I would think that the modem would support a router.

I have one more question. May I ask for the brand and model of the TV?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

I don't know the model . The brand is Samsung.

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
I will need the model name before I am able to give you the correct answer.

Jason. Do you know about homeplugs? Would that help me?

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
Harvey,
I am aware of the homeplugs / powerline adapters. However, those will only work if the TV has an Ethernet/Network port on it.
Once I have the TV brand and model name, I will be able to give you the correct answer and solution.
