I'm sorry about the issue. Is this a new router?
Does your working HP laptop have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8, or 10?
What is the error or message when connecting the older Windows XP laptop to wireless?
Was the older laptop working previously fine with the old router, if you had one previously?
Please reply at the box below. Thank you.
What's the model of the old windows xp laptop?
Since it's an old laptop, we need to adjust some settings on the new router in order to make it compatible with the old laptop.
Can we do a remote support session on your working computer, so I can troubleshoot the issue directly through your computer together with you?
Please reply at the box below. Thank you,
No, the issue is that it's a hardware limitation or router's setting issue; you would either need to buy / update a new wireless USB adapter for the old laptop. Or I can adjust the settings on the router and make it work with all your computers / devices. Please let me know your option. Thank you.
I do live online support. It would be easier with remote support as I would do all the steps for you as this is technical. But no problem, I can provide written instructions per your request.
