Hello, my name is***** can assist you with installing this. Do you have the media in case it needs some files? It shouldn't but one thing that is good to know, just in case.

Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
Ok. Great.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I bought elite 8100 small factory without hard drive. Bought the hard drive and windows installation disk. Installed hard drive, installed windows home premium, downloaded the chipset from hp sp46783 and network driver sp55285. The windows key while downloading would not go thru, it was on a sticker of the desktop. While downloading network driver, it asked to install snmp service. That is where i cannot go ahead -
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
You need to open up add windows components through the control panel.
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
Once you add the SNMP service, it will start immediately after you have installed it.
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
So basically that component was not installed with windows and you are going to add it.It's pretty cut and dry. If you have difficulty or need further instructions just let me know.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
let me do that now
can i call you? that will be easier.
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
I can call you, if you are in the U.S. if not I can remote in to do it.It's up to you.
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
Or both at the same time if in US. Just remote if outside.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
That is correct.
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
How is it doing?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
should i expand it and check wmi snmp provider too?
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
Just in case, anything relevant to snmp. It will be there if needed.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
so i just click ok and then restart the comp?
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
You shouldn't have to restart, unless it prompts you to.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
so download went thru
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
Great!I'm glad we could get it working.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
still does not show the connected internet cable
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I went thru this before, was browsing online did these steps before
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
If a cable is connected to the router and the drivers are installed properly, then you will see an active connection in win 7.
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
It'll show an icon like it is not working, if it is not connected
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it still says the network driver is missing
should i download it again?
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
When you downloaded it, did it perform the installation?
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
You may have just downloaded the file and not installed it.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yes, broadcam netxtreme-1
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
doing installation once again of sp55285
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it still shows network adapteris not properly installed
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
windows cannot find a driver
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
So it should have extracted the files somewhere(wherever you specified) and then you should have seen the typical installation process.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yes, installation went thru
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it was prompting next steps
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
If you open device manager, does the network card appear with a red x or Yellow exclamation point or does it appear normal?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
do you want me to download chipset sp 46783 again?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i will check now
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
I wasn't aware that you did.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
with yellow warning
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ethernet, pci serial port and pci simple communications
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
This is a driver issue then with the chipset in general and will just require the proper driver installations. I don't know enough about the specs of your system to go into that detail, your question was relative to the SNMP service. What I can do is opt out for another representative to assist you with that and there is enough information in this chat that you are well on your way for solving the network issue as I am pressed for time.Is that acceptable?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
as I mentioned in the begining, i have chipset and driver downloaded several times from hp
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
snmp service would not go thru, that was the problem, though it shows as if it did, can my question be reposted back, i do not want to double pay?
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
Sure, now that we have enough information, I can opt out and someone else can pick it up and get you fixed up.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
thanks a lot Richard!
Expert:  Richard Hall replied 1 year ago.
No problem.Good luck. I will repost it back for you now. Richard

Please do the following to see the Local Area Network adapter is available:
1. Click the Windows Start button, open the Control Panel and click on "Network and Internet" and then on "Network and Sharing Center"
2. Click on "Change adapter settings" located in the upper left corner
3. The Network Connections folder will open. Do you see any network adapter there?
