Customer Question

I'm sure this a repeat of some previous requests but here goes. I'm trying to remote view a security camera system. I'm using a Netgear WNR3500L wireless router and can't figure out how to set this up.

Are you able to view the camera system internally on your network?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no. i'm having no luck with that either. I've also signed up for ddns account and have entered that info into the dvr without success
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
ok, you dont need to worry about any of that
Whats the issue you have trying to view the cameras within the network on your computer?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
when i type the dvr ip into the adress bar it doesn't work
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
whats the DVR IP?
I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.

ok, all looks correct so would need to check what is happening.
I am offline for the night, as I took this as I thought it only needed the router done, but I see you need a complete setup.
Would you like to resume tomorrow? Or that I opt out and we see if another expert takes over?
Please let me know

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
thanks so very much! you've been a great help! just wish this would let me rate you with 1 star.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
Sorry I had to go offline due to a personal issue, this is what I indicated in my last message.
Can you tell me please, what port you set the DVR to?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the port is 80.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm able to view the dvr on all computers on my network. Can't view remotely from out of network.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
ok, then what you need to do is forward port 80 on your router to the DVR.
Tell me the make and model of the router and I can tell you how.
