Does your Kindle PaperWhite see your home wifi connection at all?

acknowledges it, says not able to connect. Tried installing a Tivo, did the same thing

Please do couple resets as follows:

First, please turn off your Wifi router (Not your device Wifi. Your home/work wifi router/modem.) for 5 minutes. Turn it back on and try to connect your Kindle to wifi.

If that does not work, on your Kindle, press and hold the Power switch for 20 seconds. It will reboot. After turned back on, try to connect to wifi again.

sorry, neither worked. tried re entering PW for wi-fi, failed again. Should I try Xfinity tech support again; they just had me reboot the router 2 different times, did not help?

Do you have any computer or phone connecting to wifi now?

If not, I suggest to call Xfinity Support and ask them to send the signal and Factory Reset the modem again.

We can try to reset your Kindle Paperwhite as follows:

  1. From the Kindle Home screen, press Menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Press Menu button again.
  4. Select Reset to Factory Defaults.
  5. Confirm and reset.
  6. Setup and connect to wifi.
  7. Log into your Amazon account and register your Kindle.
  8. Try to connect to Amazon Store to download your books back to your Kindle.

 

If still not be able to connect to your home wifi, please test with another wifi network. Thank you!

Tried wi-fi at McDonalds and was able to get a result, so the problem must still be with Xfinity. Their check of my line seemed to find everything OK.

Your WiFi password, how many characters does it have?

Usually Kindles will work with 8 or more characters or numbers.

If still not working, please check the Wireless channel and change it to 11 or 6. You might need Xfinity Support to help you with this.
