Apologies for that.

Are you able to get to the web manager of the TP LINK router.

Go to http://192.168.1.1 as an example.

The in there check click USB Settings - USB Mass storage

Provide me with the settings there.

Then got to USB Settings - Storage Sharing

Make sure that is enabled

Check that the volume is enabled and that there is Full access.

Then test by typing \\192.168.1.1\[volume name] in the Windows search bar

Hi Jason,


iI'll get you to connect remotely and set my new hard drive so that I can see it in my computer. Today I bought a new TP-Link router with a USB share facility, and have connected a new Drive into that. The router is recognising the drive, I've turned on sharing etc. The NAS we set up yesterday is working well. I just need to set up the other drive for backups. I took your advice and install FBackup all Pro
