Can you click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Properties, then check if your System type: is 32-bit or 64-bit?
Can you click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Manage, then click on Device manager, then open/expand Network adapters (click on the + plus sign in front of it), then tell me the item(s) under it?
Also, let me know if there is any problematic/yellow item in Device Manager.
Does another laptop or wireless device work fine with wireless?
Check the hp wireless assistant icon or from Start, All programs, HP, etc...
Please try this first: click Start->All programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore and restore the computer to any date before this issue has occurred, then check?
