Then Ping Statics for 18.104.22.168
Packets sent = 4, received 0, lost =4 (100% loss)
Should I go ahead and type in ping red.com?
So I don't type in ping red.com?
I close out of the black screen and continue with the above?
Sorry I just got your message. I did type in ping red.com when I didn't hear from you.
What should I do now...
I already did it after I typed in Ping red.com.
Should I try the above again.
Everything went OK, but when I closed and tried to connect I got the same error message.
No internet, I still got the Windows can't communicate....
I plugged the cable from the directly from the comcast modem to the laptop. It don't work wireless. Do you want me to get another cable and run it from the router to the laptop? So modem to the router to the laptop?
I don't have another cable to run from the router to the laptop.
I can go buy one.
I don't think I understand.
If I use the cable from the modem to the router to connect the router to the laptop how will the router be connected? The router is no longer connected to the modem.
Maybe I am confused. Sorry...
I have to go to Staples around the corner.
I will be right back.
Did you get my last message?
I tried to connect with the laptop cable to the router.
It didn't work.

After ping red.com;
Ping request could not find red.com
I am communicating with you on an apple laptop. I am sorry, but I don't know where the start bottom is on it.
IP Address: 10.0.1.2
I got request time out.
Does it matter that the Media is disconnected?
I have had it plugged into the router since about 9 AM.
I have 3 ports, the cable is plugged into the first one closest to modem plug in. There is a small green light which is on inside on the right side of the port.
Yes, the green light in the port hole goes off.
All the other lights on the modem and router stay on.
I Uninstalled Atheros Wireless, but I don't see Lan Adapter.
There is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller under Network Adapters
I choose Computers from the list to scan.
The Network Adaptors came back.
Do I automatically install Atheros and/or Realtek?
OK now I have "connections available," but when I try to get on I get:
You have no preferred wireless networks
A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken.
I would like for Internet Explorer to be my preferred wireless network, not Google Crome if possible.
And I would like to be wireless no plugged in.
Thank you for all your patience and help.
I plugged the cable into the router and into the laptop.
Now I have a connection, but cannot again connect to the internet.
The message is:
The DNS server is not responding.
I am back to the beginning!
This is the first message I got yesterday morning when all this began!
Sorry, I am getting a little crazy here...
