Yes but it is not this computer I have an issue with. It is my desk top that I can't get connected with. It keeps telling me I have no connectivity when I try and conect through the router. But it will conect when conected directly to the modem
OK, are you try to connect it via wireless? Or with an Ethernet cable connected to the router from the computer? Please click the "Reply to expert" button below to let me know.Thank you.
With ethernet cable to the router. I had my laptop connected that way then went back to wireless. So my laptop will connect both ways through the router and my desktop will connect directly to the modum but not through the router.

I still can't go anywhere but it does say I have a connection but it is only1.0 gbps
Well, 1.0 gbps would be awesome. (1 gbps is an extremely fast speed, is not 1mbps or 1kbps, but that would be the speed from the router to the computer, not from the ISP to the computer)OK, let's continue trying to solve the issue. Please try disabling the antivirus and firewall from the "problematic" computer, then restart the computer and try to open a website again. If no luck, please follow the steps below:1- Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, and then RIGHT CLICK "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator". 2- The terminal black screen will be opened.3- Type "ipconfig/release" without the quotes and press Enter4- Type "ipconfig/renew" without the quotes and press Enter5- Type "NETSH WINSOCK RESET" without the quotes and press Enter6- Type "netsh int ip reset all" without the quotes and press ENTERThank youJohn C.Computer Science Engineer
