My new ISP just installed a Westell adsl2+ VersaLink, I want to change the password (he did once), I've tried typing the address (10.0.0.2.) in my browser, but can't get anything.I have both Safari and Windows.
Optional Information: Computer OS: Mac OS X Browser: Other Already Tried: Typing the address in both Safari on my mac and Windows 7 on my HP.
Hello. My name is XXXX XXX I will be your Network expert.
As long as you know the user name and current password XXX will have no problem but the address you are using is incorrect. The address you type into your browser is 192.168.1.1
The info I had to change my password XXXX 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 were the two most common, so I tried them first and still just get a "search"page rather than a website, so I found the info on how to find the address on my Mac and it states the address is the one I gave you. However, all three address just give search info no website, no little windows to put info into. But, thats how I found your site.
Ok. The 10.0.0.2 is the address your isp is using to get on the internet and it will not get you to the log in. One of those two has to be it. Please send me exactly how you are typing it in so I can see what is wrong. Also are you typing this into the http block or the search block of your browser?
I was typing into the http block, but while waiting for your reply I tried the search block - got different results but of course no help.
10.0.0.2. and http://10.0.0.2. then 192.168.1.1. and 192.168.0.1. then 192.168.1.1 and http://1921681.1 I think thats about all.
If you are putting 192.168.1.1 and nothing else into the address bar it should take you right to the log in page. If it is not then whoever installed this devise has changed the address and although I can think of no reason for them to do this you will need to contact them and find out what address they are using for it because you will not be able to locate it any other way.
Well, I'm not happy with your replies and I want my money back.
As I told you, I checked the address on the Mac, but I hadn't checked it on the PC, after this reply, I tried checking it on the PC (Windows 7) and it gave me a different address, although similiar to the first, when I tried that address, I finally got through. I'm sorry Richard but you were no help at all on this.
I have no idea what you are talking about
