DNS as 192.168.0.1
and save this
tell me when you have please
media port: 09000?
web port: 00080?
ports are good as you listed them
i have two systems, i will be asking you another question on how to set up two identical dvrs to both work on the network after this question is awnsered succsessfully. just wanted you to know when setting this one up
settings set, system is rebooting
ok, but please note it is one question (problem) per request please. But you are free to post the second question directly to mew
i will after this is complete
system is back up, what do i need to do now?
ok, now open a web browser
and go to http://192.168.0.164
Tell me if you see the DVR login page please
no data recieved
is that what the web page says?
can you check on the DVR that the settings remained please?
yes settings remain
which web browser are you using?
ok, do it with internet explorer please
it is trying to work on IE but it says windows has blocked this software because it cant verify publisher
ok, thats normal
Are you able to allow it?
ok, we can sort this later (you will see how)
go to http://192.168.0.1
this should be the dlink login screen
use admin and blank password XXXXX
ok, go to port forwarding
tell me if you dont find it
ok, you want to forward ports 80 and 9000 to ip 192.168.0.164
on protcol TCP and UDP
can you do this please?
im on the port forwarding page, not sure how to do that
ok, you see the option to add?
each check box has the following: Name, Application name, ports to open TCP, Ip adress, computer name, ports to open UDP
ok, what model is the DLink?
and I can step you through
ok, Name put in DVR
Application Name you can Leave
TCP = 80
IP Address = 192.168.0.164
UDP = 80
Inbound Filter = Allow All
Then save this please
i did 80 and 9000
used same settings just changed 9000 right?
yes and name = DVR2
ok, now go to
tell me your ip address please
ok, give me 5 min to log onto it please
what is in front of the dLink?
is it a modem?
it is connected to a point to point internet connection
how do you mean point to point?
were out in the country, no dsl or cable so my sever provider buys multiple T1 lines and brodcasts it out wireless
then thats why. They block inbound ports
i have wireless box that points to an antenne tower
you are only going to get this working when you are on your local network
it wont work from the internet
but you have a mobile device?
it works on my local network
but wont work on the internet as they block incoming port 80 & 9000
thats why I am not able to connect
i have an application NETVIEWER that i can see the dvr properly working on
yes, on your network it is not going to be a problem
what do you mean by mobile device?
you can also watch video on a smart phone like Android or iPhone
yes thats what i want to do
i have a 4g android
ok, in the manual it will tell you which app to download
can you check this please
i am downloading it now
thanks, XXXXX XXXXX you use the ip 192.168.0.164 and port 9000
if it doesnt work on 9000 use 80
but the phone needs to be connected to your wireless
i need to do it over internet access, do i need to contact my isp?
yes, and ask them to open port 80 and 9000
if they wont tell them any two ports would do
and then you update the portforwarding and the DVR with the ports and it will work
ok, while im doing it, do i need to open 4 ports so that i can use two dvrs?
i have 8 cameras and on 4 per unit
correct, and you assign the second one ip 192.168.0.165
and forward the other two ports to that IP
isp will be changing my internet to a static ip address in the next 30 days
ok, but will they be opening the ports?
perfect, then when they do this, it will work
as we have it all set up now
as for now, you have awnsered this question and i will hit accept. I have another question for you i will send if you can open me back up in a chat
no problem, when you make the second question
just put my name in it "For RichieMe"
and Ill open it straight away for you
