Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.

Please go to the website http://www.routerlogin.net/ , or could be the website http://192.168.1.1/ or http://192.168.0.1/, and login with:
  • Username = admin
  • Password = password
  • if it does not work, try password = 1234

Then click on the Wireless settings option to get the wireless network name and passphrase/key.

Please let me know if there is still any issue. thank you.

The first website only brings up the netgear home page. I do not know where to type in Username or Password, and the two other sites you have do not work.
Is the computer connected to the router?

What happens when you click on the website http://192.168.1.1/ and/or http://192.168.0.1/?

Can you do:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences... .

  2. In System Preferences, from the View menu, select Network.

  3. Select the connected item.

  4. Click Advanced... , and in the sheet that opens, click the TCP/IP tab. Then tell me the number next to "Router:".

Thank you.

My computer is connected to the router. The two websites you have are blank and untitled when I click on them.

I did what you told me with the system preferences. The number next to router is 76.23.168.1
Can you try the website http://76.23.168.1?

But it looks like the computer is connected to the modem, not the router.

Can you make sure the modem is connected to the router's Internet/WAN port, and the computer is connected to one of the router's Ethernet/LAN ports?

Thank you.

I'm unsure how to connect my computer to the router? The cord from the modem is plugged into my mac I believe. The ethernet is connected and the Airport is on. Firewire is not connected. What should I do to connect to the router's Internet/WAN port. Thanks
Can you reset the netgear router: make sure the netgear router has power, then use a paper clip to press & hold the tiny reset hole/button located on the back/bottom of the netgear router for 10 seconds. Then wait a few minutes, then connect the laptop and/or any wireless device to the wireless network name netgear without any password, and check?

If that does not work,

What is the netgear router connected to?

What's the brand and model of the modem?

What's the exact model of the netgear router?

Who's your Internet service provider?

Do you have a laptop/wireless computer that is currently connected via wireless (not wired connection)? If so, does it have windows xp, vista, or 7, or Mac computer?

Please let me know. Thank you.
