how do i switch on the bluetooth on a CF29 toughbook: the icon is on the task bar with a red center, when i right click it there's no prompt to turn it on

I searched every where for a long time for this information. The user guide and reference manual did not help with this issue

I did find one piece of information so let me know if this is correct advice please.

Instructions

1 Open the "Control Panel" in "Start" menu.
2 Select "Hardware and Sound" and open "Bluetooth."
3 Open the "Bluetooth Settings" and select the "Options" tab.
4 check the "Turn Discovery On" option.
5 Click "Apply" and "OK" to save and close the settings.

my computer has XP Professional software so there's no "Hardware and Sound" to select also can't find "Bluetooth Settings".

I am sorry I can not find any information on this any where on the Internet. I will opt out so maybe another Expert can find this answer for you.

Looks like FN F8 should do it. Here is a link to the manual. http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/download/file/006326/s/47a364855341996a/29mk5_X_E_RM_A.pdf I guess I'd make sure your model has bluetooth before you go through too much trouble.
